Spyder as a Daily Driver?
I use my red spyder (the red ones are faster) as a dd, and have no trouble up to 95 degrees and humid here in NY. Top seems quiet enough and I've never taken it over 90 mph so I don't know much about behavior at top speeds.
I LOVE my Spyder!

jrdriller, as a daily driver commuting that much, if there was one particular thing that annoyed you the most while driving around Houston, what would you say that is?
Also agree about PDK option for a DD... but would that be counter to the concept of the Spyder considering the added weight and fewer driver inputs (somewhat)? Understand this topic has been covered and has brought on about vast opinions and fierce debates, but what I am interested to get feedback on is from those who have driven both on the Spyder only and what difference in feel is most obvious. Thanks in advance!

not having pcm+nav is a bit of a pain. for the most part i know my way round town but there are times when nav would be nice. i really enjoy listening to xm radio in the morning as well.
as for pcm vs manual either is good. choice would be personal decision. for me it having pcm would enable my wife to enjoy driving the car.
as i mentioned in my previous posts there are a couple of parking lot/garage ramps that i need to avoid. i would add that the cars need a fair bit of door swing space so selecting a spot to park needs a bit of thought
cheers
I've not had a chance to drive an R but I do know one person who has one and uses it as a DD. he likes it (pcm + 6 spd, etc)
choice between the Spyder and R would be tough and probably not made on performance or ride quality as both are probably more or less the same.
for me I like having the convertable option.
as i said previously however I would more likely lean towards Cayman S or "black" for DD duty c/w PCM, PDK, sport plus, etc.
My son has an 07 Cayman which he uses as his DD and he loves it
cheers
