Boxster vs Boxster S
Boxster vs Boxster S
A few weeks ago I got a 911 TTS with the PDK, I love the car but I do miss rowing though the gears.
It looks like my motorcycling days are numbered do to some old injurys that cause me pain when riding.
So to get that wind in my face and manual shift fix, I was thinking of selling my bikes toward a Boxster.
The base model is about 20K less and less HP.
Since I already have a superfast car I was thinking I could get by with the base model Boxster, or would I just be wanting the S a few months from now?
What other differance's are there besides the bigger engine?
Also what kind of discount do you think I could get on a 2011 model?
Thanks

Drive em and see what you think. I have driven most years and models of the Boxster/Cayman and the new ones are nice. Big differences being displacement, larger brakes, and 6 speed along with some interior enhancements in the Box S.
I do plan to keep my little ol' 98 a while longer though.

When you're comparing like years ( 2005 Box vs. 2005 S) there's not a lot of difference. There's more difference between a 1998 Boxster base and a 2009 Boxster base. That said, many have traded their 911's for Boxsters due to the balance and agility. Great cars. However, I doubt you need both the 911 and Boxster. A little redundant.
I test drove a Boxster S and it was flat out fun. No doubt I don't need it, but I'm selling three street bikes that will almost cover the cost of the car.
And Porsches are more fun then the stock market right now.
So far I can get a 2011 with about 80 miles on it for $3000.00 off. Its silver the color I really want.
Another dealer has a 2012 Black Edition, and one in red, I like them both.
Do you think I could get a discount on the 2012's, I would like to get 7 or 8k off, they both sticker around 70K?
Thanks
