GoPro in a Boxster

Alright guys I have a track day coming up in mid-September and I'd like to try a few different positions with the camera while I'm there. One I'm interested in is mounting it on the middle bar between the seats to get this shot:

To those that have mounted the camera this way, did you just buy a roll bar mount? Trying to figure out what I need to do to get this view so I can see where I'm looking as well as steering inputs. Thanks everyone!

I fabricated my own and mounted it on the crossbar where the wind deflector goes...

Behold, the patent-pending super-fantastic J-rad Perfomance Camera Mount for the Porsche Boxster S! Brey Krause who?! Pfft. ;D

And with camera mounted:

In the video you posted, the camera is using a wide angle lens to get the view. I don't have a wide angle lens. Given that, I tend to zoom the lens to get a slightly larger image though the windshield while allowing some glimpses as to my steering inputs and tach - just personal preference. Sample video (this is a few years old and the camera is crappy but you get the idea):

I fabricated a mount using aluminum bar, a ball head and 2 stainless hose clamps. It works well and doesnt get in the way. The cam sits between the loops. With a wide angle cam, you should be able to achieve same results. Here is a video i got, but with a regular angle cam

Btw, if you'll be at Sebring with PCA, I can bring the rig to show you. Alternative, you can use double sided tape to tape the mount to the speaker/storage box. Go Pro is small enough that it wont go anywhere.

I also have a gopro. that is a pretty good mount as I have wanted to put my camera on that spot. I also have the suction mount that is pretty awesome. here is something I have been looking at:

and here are some of my videos taken from my gopro. Some are AX some are just driving around. I think all of the AX ones were with some real crappy tires out back so I spun alot. Since I have put on starspecs and the rear has so much grip its amazing.

That video view you picked belongs to a friend of mine - Chad . You will have to make your own mount and set it behind the roll bar to get that view. I have my GOPRO in front of the roll bar and that is the way most others have theirs but you will not achieve the same view
