Exhaust set up for 08 Cayman

Hi Guys..

Brand new to the board .. and a relatively new Cayman owner ..

So ...

Any recommendations for my '08 2.7 ?

My "wish list"

Increased HP / Torque

Street Legal in California

Not "loud"; I'm O.K. with some more noise, however ..

Will not void what's left on my warranty..( exp june 2012)

Again, a wish list, so I appreciate that I may get "some" but not all on my list ..

And, to this last point, anyone know anything about the TPC "LP" turbo kit ??

Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are a variety of systems and prices, but unless you are tracking the car you won't get much more than a cool engine sound on the street. Getting HP and torque requires the car to be driven a bit more aggressively than you will be driving on the street.

A little slow but take a look at the Fister muffler modification. Increased tone and volume.

Just my 2 cents ..
Speedart Exhaust is the only one I have heard that is not to much louder then stock and offers some good performance gains .
I think Scott at Softronics has a deal if you get the Flash and Exhaust from him so go to Softronics.us
add a (SRP) plenum and some sport cat headers from Fabspeed
De-snork it, Higher flow air filter .(BMC ,evo, K&N ) lightweight Flwheel, lightweight smaller Pulley .
Then you want to reduce weight wherever you can !!! even your own body if need be
Lighweight Racing Battery
Lighter Wheels
Cf front hood
strip whatever you can live without .

OR

Option # 2 TPC Turbo but you will need to contact Casey @ TPC and ask him about passing the CA smog tests you have there .
This is what I would personally do if I had to do It all over again ,less money ,More Power and will actually Add value to your 2.7 instead of decreasing it IMO . and you have something really unique and COOL

the bad news ...
BOTH options void warrenty ...
heck... replace the cigarette lighter and it will void the warrenty on these cars . I added Similar options on the first list when I got my 2007 new and now I have 60K ..NOT ONE PROBLEM.. NOTHING ..

Option #3 Move to WA State and get the TPC .. we have no smog checks .. EVER ..in my county

Hey mrmuddy, make sure to check out the Fabspeed Exhaust system for your Cayman. We have a nice muffler upgrade which will improve the performance and sound of the car without affecting the warranty or drive-ability of the car. It will not affect California emissions since you are only upgrading from the headers back so the required cats are still in place. But we also have Headers with High Flow cats for increased power and sound. The system is a direct bolt on replacement for the stock exhaust and takes about 2-3 hours to install. Let me know if you have any questions and PM if you are interested in are 6speed member pricing.
thanks,
