275/35ZR19 on a 265/35ZR19!!?

My current tires, Pirelli PZero Rosso's are down to 1/32" of tread left so I need to replace them ASAP. I have read various reviews about the Michelin Pilot Super Sports and have decided that these are the tires I want. The only problem is that they do not make these tires in the 19" rear size for our cars (265/35ZR19). The closest thing they make them in is a 275/35ZR19.

Has anyone ever (in the history of time) put a 275/35ZR19 tire on a rim that has a recommended size of 265/35ZR19? Cause if I'm the first person to ever do this, I'm going to call the Guinness World Records and have them sponser me . Thanks in advanced for anyone's help.

Tirerack claims the 265/35 19 Supersport will be available 10/30/11, IIRC. Many have used the 275/35 19 rear with the 245/35 19 front to keep things balanced. Go to Planet-9.com and do a search. Keep your eyes peeled, I need tires as well.

Use the width of the rim to determine size of time. In most cases, you can fit 265 on 9 - 10" rims. And 275 on 9 - 11" rims. Looking at your avatar, your wheels are the Carerra Sports in 19x9.5 wide (I recall). So, you shouldn't have issues going with either size.

My rear wheels are 19x10's and put on 275/35/19. In your case, going with 275 will actually give you a little more rim protection - 5mm on either side.

I had a set of PZero Rosso's and didn't like them too much. I had the Michelin Super Sports on my shopping list, but decided to go with the Hankook Ventus v12s and save money for road trips & DE's.

If you're in Ft Lauderdale, maybe I'll see you around. I live ~2 min west of Galleria mall.

275 should be fine. just a bit wider, but this all depends on tire manufacturer as well since the actual width varies from one brand to another. If your worried about upsetting the balance of the car, get 245s for the front.

Cayman Cab S,

Can you tell me who at Tirerack told you the MPSS will be out in 265/35ZR19 on 10/31/11? Thanks.

Their website used to claim 10/31 was the date of availability, now the site says the tires are back ordered. No date is given for availability at this time.

I hope we don't have any problems... I just ordered the Nitto NT05, that only comes in a 275 ! I'm going away from the Michelin Pilot Super Sports, because you can't rotate them at all... To get more tread life, I'm getting a multi-directional tread. Good luck on your decision.
