New Boxster Owner

Ok Ok Ok.. I did it DESPITE the my fear of IMS bearing issue.

Bought a 04 Boxster Base.

Stick.

Dark Blue with Black Leather.

29K on the clock.

One owner.

Garage Kept.

Serviced at Porsche dealer since a baby.

All stamped books and records.

PPI was clean.

30K service just completed too.

RMS, IMS Seal, Clutch at 20K. The clutch wasn't needed but he said, "hey, you are already in there, go ahead and do the clutch too". (I WISH he had known about the IMS bearings at this point!)

2000 miles on new Perelli 17" Rosso tires.

Never tracked.

$19,700

NOW.. extended Total Protection by Prism OR replace IMS bearings OR IMS Guardian or just drive the heck out of it!

BTW... the service adviser has she has had 3 cars explode from IMS out of the hundreds and hundreds sold/serviced there. (DALLAS, TX)

Warranty:
4/48 $5000
3/36 $3600
2/24 $2700
1/12 $2100

I WISH there was a 60 month/36K option.

Thanks for your wealth of information!

Pics will come soon.

George

PS.. Just joined PCA and feel like a kid at Christmas.

Congrats and looks like you found a very nice car with plenty miles for you to enjoy! As for aftermarket warranty, there are usually two side of the camp on this.... but definitely do your research about the warranty companies before making a decision. Enjoy!
