981 Boxster S or 11 Spyder?

Would you wait on the new car? I know power is the same almost... bu there is the footprint... interior.. "newness".... I really like the cf seats, 6speed and look of the 11 Spyder (plus the extra handling and sharpness)... feel it would be a better track car (would use for track days and nice days for driving).... or way out in left field... 996 GT3?... all around the same price now...

I originally was thinking 997.1 turbo/gt3... but I think I should look a bit cheaper

I did a search and didnt find anything, although Im sure its been talked about

If the track is your focus - out of the cars you mentioned - the 996 GT3 would prally be the way to go. Nice days wouldnt be as "fun" since its not a vert and doesnt even have a sunroof, but on the track they are beasts.

In the middle - some track and some fun - i think the Spyder would be best. Great at the track due to its weight and setup but also AWESOME on the roads and on sunny days

For very little track and mainly street use and fun driving on back roads i would guess the new 981 would be awesome. Sharp new looks - tight interior - rare.

Hope that helps.

looking at something like the lightning lap that car and driver does... a new GT3 isnt more than 2 seconds faster around VIR than a Boxster spyder.. so shouldnt the spyder be faster than a 996 GT3 and handle better? Plus the spyder comes with average tires, Id swap them with the PS cups or toyoR888 and I bet that'd make up the 2 seconds.. then the seats/interio and top of the spyder... the ONLY thing i can think of with the Gt3 996 is perhaps the engine is more robust on track? Would the spyder be ok about 10 track days a year?
