Any advice with Hoosier tires A6 or R6 for a Boxster Spyder to be used in Auto Cross
Any advice with Hoosier tires A6 or R6 for a Boxster Spyder to be used in Auto Cross
Any experience with any of these models from Hoosier, A6 or R6?, I am looking forward to use them with my stock wheels to run Autocross/Time trials and some outlaw road track test.
A6 autocross and R6 for track right? I may get a second set of 19's (gotta stay stock size for scca) and do oz ultraleggeras with r6 because it'll be track and autX
Are you mainly doing autoX? Get the r6 if doing time trails too maybe.. That's what I'm doing

I have used both on the track (I am HPDE instructor), and the A6 will wear twice as fast.
A6 will get to temp very quickly (by 3 turns or so), whereas the R6 will require ~1-1.5 laps to get up to optimal operating temps.
A6 definitely for autocross, although some of us track junkies don't really care either way.

I don't autox much, but I don't think the R6 will get to temp fast enough for the shorter/lower speed turns the autox requires. Don't you guys pretty much go "***** out" right out of the chute?
