Wheel Nut Torque for Cayman R

I'm getting the Cayman R ready for the track again, and want to make sure the wheel nut torque is correct. The owner's manual seems to indicate 118 ft-lb. Does that sound right? I though about 90 to 100 is more typical, so that sounds a bit high?

Hartdude is infamous around these parts
  • Silver wheel bolts (up to model year 2011) = 130 Nm (96 ftlb.). 160 Nm (118 ftlb.) also permitted retroactively.
  • Silver wheel bolts as of model year 2012 = 160 Nm (118 ftlb.).
  • Black wheel bolts = 160 Nm (118 ftlb.)

This is the correct value for lug bolts if that is what you are looking for. Or lug nuts if converted to studs. Not sure what a 'wheel nut' is.

I think the manual calls them wheel nuts, but yes I'm referring to the lug nuts, lug bolts, etc.

Seeing that you have a 2012 CR, please recheck the manual. I'm pretty sure the torque spec is 118 ft-lb.
