Hi, im new to the forum and i was wodnering if the fenders and front hood of the cayman are aluminum?

Also if it is possible to install the 987.2 headlights.

No, to my knowledge, not many Porsches use Al body parts.

 

Cayman/Cayman S have aluminum hood. Cayman R has aluminum hood and aluminum doors. This is one of the reasons you will see some folks putting Das Schild hood liners under the front hood to protect from underside denting with packages placed in there.

 

As Ronald mentioned... the all 987's Boxster/Cayman use aluminum hood and trunk lids. The Spyder & R's add alum doors. Fenders are steel. The 987.2 headlights will not fit on a 987.1 without also replacing the fenders and bumper.

About the headlights i was wondering because of the connector, i was looking at some pictures in ebay and it does look the same.
I bought a 08 Cayman with a small crash in the front that needs to be replaced. So i will convert it to 987.2 and post the progress and fitment.

If theres any other tip, it will be apreciated.

Oops...I better brush up on my Porsche bible. Do any 997/991's have Al components?
