To the OP, I am considering these wheels in black for my 07 Boxster S. its been almost a year now, are you still happy with these wheels? what size tires did you go with? If you went with oem 235/265 did you consider going up to 245/275 because the wheels are 1/2 inch wider than stock? Just curious. Also, the oz website says you can also remove the "center lock look" caps and use the regular oz center caps on the inside to have the normal exposed lug nut look. Did the wheels come with these as well, or do the centers of the lock look caps pop out to become regular caps? Thanks for the info.

I just installed these on my 987.1 BS. I'm running 235 and 265 tires, and the wheels come with both sets of center caps.

oz hlt

Yeap still love them - look amazing in person (still year later). running the stock 19 inch boxster set up 235/265 looks aggresive handles great, you get i guess two center cap options you can pop out the oz center caps and glue/adhesive them to the foe centerlock caps if u you want. Wish you could get a porsche center cap that would fit these - but they still look awesome.

Yeah the car looks good except for that part, which is definitely a fail (sorry). Putting the wrong badge on any car just doesn't cut it, especially when the badge is for a much more expensive, limited edition car. You've done a nice job with everything else, so why ruin it with the wrong badge?

No you and others are right, incorrect badging is just wrong, it was misleading, it devalues the porsche brand, it offends real Spyder owners, it confusing other drivers and onlookers all around, it denoteded somthing my car is and never will be. Your right the Spyder is more special, its more expensive, more rare, more sought after, and more performance.

I finally hit bottom: (True Story) when a neighbor came by saw my car parked out front and with a confused look said "hey I have a Spyder too, and it looks like yours" I was ah damn, That was it, I finally had to come clean and I told her well this isnt actually a Spyder its just a Boxster. She didnt seem to offended, but I felt bad. I new she had a real Spyder, a Spyder Badged from the factory and I didnt. I was disrespeting her and all other Spyder owners who paid top dollar. Bottom line, I didnt want to have my car live a lie, I to get real, and I never ever want to my car to be confused with a real Spyder, so now this Boxster is debadged for forever. I would hate for anyone to confuse my car with my neighbors real Spyder.

Vlm7 and Goshow - thanks for the response about the tire sizes you guys are running with your new wheels. Just a follow up question, is there still enough rim protection at the outside edge of the tire... i.e. does the tire still protrude further than the edge of the rim as with oem wheels (more narrow) or do I need to go with a wider tire to achieve that?

On my setup, at the edge, there is minimal tire extending beyond the rim. If you really care to rely on that for protection, I'd suggest a wide tire.
