Smile Car key remote does not operate door locks

Greetings,

One of my car key remotes for my '11 Boxster Spyda does not operate the door locks but it does start the engine.
Do you think I should take it to the dealer to fix or do you have other recommendations?

Any feedback is appreciated.
Thank you.

Same thing happened to me. Took it to the dealer. They ended up replacing the key then my other key would not work (which was still working). They replaced the 2nd key. Two keys replaced. Cost over $300.00

+1 I would try replace the battery first and see if that works. It's a lot cheaper then going to the dealership.

I lost one of my car key remotes, so I purchased a new one from a local shop and after they programmed the new key, they also needed to program my other key or else it will not work. Months later I found my key that I lost and got that reprogrammed but again, the shop had to reprogram my other two keys (all for $60 labor). However, the key I found starts the engine but no longer operates the door locks or trunks. The shop told me to try the dealership which I am holding off since I already have two keys that are fully functional.
