How rare is this 986?
Hey all! Picked up a '98 Boxster a few years ago and I've always wondered, but never took the time to find out.. How rare is this color/combo? Hardtop, what seems to be factory wheels just based off the Porsche center caps and Brembo brakes. Previous owner honestly didn't know much about it.. $9,000 5spd 57k miles
Ocean Jade Metallic - 60/J3
Anyone know how many were made? Or what they're going for market value?
Thanks!

The color is rare.
A matching hard top is rare as not many owners elect to get one.
The wheels do not look like factory wheels to me.
The car is not rare enough to warrant any bump in market price.
The car's service history and condition play a much larger role in its market price but there is a limit given the car is '98 model.
In some ways this works against a higher valuation due to fact it is the first iteration of the Boxster and has a 2.5l engine.
My advice would be to use several of the online sites that offer used car prices and run the numbers through each of them and get a sense of the car's trade in and private and retail sales numbers.
The car is roughly only worth what its trade in value is. What the seller gets over and above this is between him and the buyer.

FYI...Don't know your location, so I used mine--Fl. Gulf Coast. KBB says, with the hard top, in very good condition, $9062. Very Good condition is the best sane people ever use. Whether you are buying or selling, Excellent condition is never/should never be used.
Beautiful car.
Enjoy the ride.

After working for a Porsche dealership for a couple years managing inventory, I never saw that color come in. Really nice. Didn't know Porsche had a color option like that. Very sick.
