Boxster | Fabspeed Performance Exh Install

I have had my 981 for a little over a year now and decided I wanted an aftermarket exhaust installed on the car. I had researched the most popular systems and watched countless YouTube videos and sound clips.

I chose the Fabspeed Performance exhaust. I had spoke with the guys at Fabspeed several times in regards to the exhaust, etc. With only living less than 2 hours from their facility I scheduled an appointment to have the work completed by their techs.

I arrived at their location late yesterday afternoon. When I checked in, I was greeted by my sales person who introduced me to the tech who would performing the work. After a quick walk around of the car to check for any damage, the tech took a quick test drive and then placed the car on the lift and the install started.

I was shown to the waiting area which was nicely furnished. There was also a view of the repair area where I could see the car being worked on. The facilty is spotless and well kept. No back yard garage or warehouse type of establishment.

As the installation was almost complete, the owner was getting ready to leave for the day. He stopped by the waiting area and thanked me for bringing the car to them and gave me a personal tour of the facilty. WOW! They fabricate and assemble everything right there onsite. It was an impressive to see everything being made here in the states!

One the tech finished the install, he brought me back into the shop to check over the car and he took a short test drive. Once the paperwork was complete, the car was brought around front and I was back on the Turnpike heading home.

The sound is great and in my opinion, worth the time spent driving there for the install and to see how the system was manufactured. A personal tour of the facility by the owner was a plus!

If you're in the market for any type of exhaust, I would recommend you check out the guys at Fabspeed.

Just a couple pics from yesterday.

Looks good. How would you describe the volume and tone compared to the standard exhaust? Any additional burble on the overrun? TIA

Best description - puts a smile on my face.

Seriously though it is louder than the factory exhaust, but not obnoxious. It is enjoyable to hear at low to medium speeds and when you apply your right foot.

There is not. I ready reports that their earlier systems may have had some, but they have addressed that.
