Since we have such a severe drought in California, we can only wash our cars at car wash facilities.
I'm not a fan of some of the chemicals these guys use so I decided to try a "waterless" wash on my '07 Boxster S. The product I used is the EcoSmart Waterless Wash and Wax that I obtained online. Of course it's not really waterless, but I needed only 6 cups of distilled water for the whole car plus the wheels.
All I can say is WOW! I'm a convert. I found a bunch of YouTube video's describing the method to use and followed those. To my untrained eye, the results are as good as - if not better than - you get from typical "wash & wax" products. It was super easy to do, took about the same length of time as a hosepipe wash and my paint has that freshly waxed smooth finish that I typically only get after a proper wax job.
I typically wash the insides of my wheels too, but skipped them this time. Now that I think about it, there is no reason why I couldn't do those too.
All I need now is to figure out how to clean the top properly without soaking it in water...
Here below are some pics showing the before and after. I don't usually let my cars get this dirty, but I just got back from 2 weeks in Europe and we must have had a dust storm while I was away...
I have no affiliation with the product or the online source from which it was procured. I'm simply a very satisfied customer/user.
