I hyper-extended my light switch turning it clockwise with the **** out to turn on the front and rear fog lights. Now it is stuck on and won't budge! I had to disconnect the battery so it wouldn't drain.

I have a service appointment to fix it but wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if so how you fixed it. I found videos on how to replace the part (which is around $115 for the part) but it looks like to remove the switch the lights need to be in the off position (it looks like push in and turn clockwise removes it from the dash). This is a 2005 Porsche Boxster S.

The shop was unable to magically fix it. The part is ~$135 (although I found it online for $115) and with labor will be ~$300. Wish I could have taken it apart myself and replace it. Sigh... Worst $300 I have ever spent.
