Quick question on Boxster

I just picked up my 2016 Boxster Black Edition with Light Design Pkg. I notice there is no light at the lower door edge when the door is open, I see the lens but there is no light. Is it normal?

I also ordered the Light Design Package on my Spyder and have no lights in the door either. I have lighting on the foot well and around the switches above the rear view mirror, that is all. My Cayenne with the Light Design Package has LED strip lighting on the door arm rest and I foolishly thought the Spyder would come that way too.

I can't believe such an expensive car is lacking such basic feature. But I think some configurations of the Boxster can have the door edge light, just not sure what. But it's too late anyway,
