981 Boxster PDLS beams too low/short for highway driving.

I just bought a CPO 2013 Boxster base. It has the PDLS option and I was driving it home from Colorado. When it got dark, and the headlights came on, I noticed the beam distance is really short. It appeared like it was only about 2 car-lengths out. I even drove side-by-side with other vehicles on the highway and definitely noticed that their lights allowed far further visibility.

My other car is a 2010 Acura TSX and I'd say the visibility/beam distance on that car is twice that of my Boxster.

I wonder if it's failing to adjust the beam distance for faster speeds. Or maybe it's too bright and the beams make the unlit areas darker and difficult to see in comparison.

Either way, I definitely didn't feel entirely safe driving on the highway at night with those lights.

The nice thing about CPO is you can take it in and have the dealer look at it. I believe the lights have a self leveling process they execute when they first come on. Does that happen?

I'll have to take it in to have them check it out. It does not do the self leveling when it comes on, as far as I can tell. It's fine driving in neighborhoods and going less than 45 mph, but at highway speeds, it feels very unsafe.
