Cayman with 4.2-liter 911 engine
One of the HP writers found a video documenting a pretty sick Cayman build. In place of the stock unit, Road Scholars dropped in a 4.2-liter 911 motor, and they also added a widebody kit so they could fit some fatter rubber. I wish there were more specifics in this video, but hey, when it comes like this, I'll take what I can get.
While the 4.2l engine swap (no replacement for displacement!) is mildly interesting I expect it cost a pretty penny.
The engine was followed by wider tires with a body kit to accommodate the tires. Possibly bigger brakes were added -- I didn't view the clip though so I'm just guessing -- which just adds to the cost.
Not saying the swap's a bad one it is just not something the average Cayman enthusiast is going to really consider when if it comes time to think about adding more power.
