Wheel Offset

Definitely getting rid of the ugly 2014 wheels. I see the latest models are using the spoked wheels...much more attractive.
The question is about offset.
One wheel is 40mm, the other is 55mm. How is this measured ?
It's the Ultraleggera HLT model

I was unaware that front and rear were different widths.

Strangely, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires are on closeout/special.
Given their stupendous ratings.....what does that mean ?

PSS is at the end of its product life cycle. I had 2 sets, didn't like either. It's a longer lasting PS2. The PSS replacement (P4S) is promising, but for sure won't outperform the Pilot Sport Cup 2.

As for wheels, yes they are always different widths front and rear. At least with OEM you get the appropriate offsets/clearances and for the most part they are aesthetically pleasing.
