Advice needed for a noise from the rear
Newbee here--Hello All!
My manual '06 Bexster S with 22K miles makes a speed dependent noise starting at 50mph that gets louder and higher pitched as speed increases. Putting the car in neutral makes no difference to the noise. I admit that I've never changed or checked the transsmission fluid and that is past due.
Initially I thought it was the rear tires (not original but still a bit old) but not sure.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My first guess would be tires - what are the date codes of the tires? Are they summer tires? If so, have you driven on them in the winter (or has the car sat outside on them during the winter)?
My next guess would be wheel bearings, though I imagine at 22k miles, my money would be on the tires.
