Question Good price for a 2006 Cayman S?

Hey all,

I am working on a deal for a 2006 Cayman S right now and would like some opinions. I think it's a pretty damn good deal.

Asking price: $57,995

Options:

- Arctic Silver, Black Interior, 6-Speed
- Preferred Package Plus (Bose, Xenons, Heated Seats, Power Seats, 6-Disc CD, Self-Dimming Mirrors, Colored Crest)
- 1,700 miles

It has the stock 18" wheels, but the deal I am working on includes the following:

- Swapping 19" Sport Design wheels from another used Cayman
- 20k/40k services included (in the form of a $500 discount)
- Final purchase price including tax/tags/everything of $55,500

The way I figure it, this car is virtually brand new with only 1,700 miles on the clock. Plus, at this price, as soon as I get the car I will order a short shifter, H&R or TechArt springs, cat-back exhaust (Milltek or Tubi), and tint the windows.

Deal or no deal?

Thanks!
Brad

$500 for both services? I think that will take you through one service ...

outside of that, GO FOR IT. I bet you have at least a few k of wiggle room in there, esp if you're busting out your checkbook.

Well, I was told at 2 dealerships that the 20k service only runs about $170. If this is incorrect I'll definitely make note of that.

What I'm hung up on at this point is that it looks like the Sport Design wheels are the same size f/r, and run 235-35-19's f/r. I'm debating just saying knock it down to $54,500, I'll take the 18's, then buy a set of iForged 19's or maybe some TechArt Formula 20's.

Decisions, decisions... I just don't know if I'll be happy with those Sport Designs....

I think the oil change I did @ 7500 miles was more than $175. Not sure what "else" a 20k service entails, but I'm sure it's more than an oil change. Not sure if I got screwed or you are getting a better deal.

Had a change in the deal today that was exciting. Apparently another customer wanted to buy a 2007 Cayman (base model) which already had 19" Carrera Classic wheels on it. He didn't want the wheels. So, they were going to put those brand new 19" CS's on the car I was buying, and add $1500 to the price, making it $57k out the door.

I agreed. They called back 30 minutes later saying the guy changed his mind.

Looks like this car isn't going to happen, or the dealership is f'ing with me. Either way, I don't care, because I'm in no rush to jump into something until it's right.
