"Tire size for 17" wheels"

I bought a set of 17" 996 10 spoke wheels for my 97 Boxster, 17x7 et50 fronts, 17x9 et55 rears. I have PSS9's installed & I'm looking for the right tire size or set up. Any suggestions? Thanx guys.

pick up tires yet? how do you drive?

Recommended size is 205/50/17 front and 255/40/17 in the rear, but thats just the normal recommended. You can go wider.

Haven't found any tires yet, still contimplating on Yokohama ES300's or Michelin PS2's. I drive conservative but sometimes like to take it to the limits. I hear people telling me to run 225/45-17's & some are telling me to run 205/50-17, I get confused on the front tires. Can you explain this? Thanx.
