RMS leak on 05 987
SubscribeJust thought I would let it be known that my 05 987 purchased new 11/06 with less than 800 miles is confirmed to have a RMS leak. I am not that concerned but I have read much about it. The car has 14,800 miles of this week.
It was a leftover at Tischer Porsche.
I was told that it was used at a few malls as a display car for a Lupus raffle/fundraiser. It was on display route for almost a year then back to the dealership. From what I understand there was not huge motivation to move it. It stickered for a little over 51 and I picked it up for 38. For me it was a great deal, I drive 80 miles a day to and from work. The miles will be slower to catch up with the model year and lessen my hit.
The car is great, ran an autocross this weekend.

It dribbled every time I parked it.
Just a little patch of oil and noticed I was having to fill it back up with oil.
Nothing major, just more of a headache having oil in the driveway.

I have the same RMS problem on my 2004 Boxster S, with 8 700 miles, it was normally out of warranty, but finally taken with no charge by Porsche manufacturer...Still have the same problem with 987 as seen on the french media flat6 magazine...
