Vancouver area service recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good service shop in Vancouver. I just need the fluids, ( brake and oil) and plugs changed. I've heard rumors of someone on the sunshine coast as well. Any hints?

I suggest (with strong recommendation) Scan Automotive in North Vancouver. He has done all my service (and modifications) for about 8 years now. Call James Daniels. Just google them.

I've not heard of anyone on Sunshine Coast but a few people go to someone on Vancouver Island for some major items on older cars (pre 993 so to speak).

Or, learn to change the oil yourself. It's really easy, doesn't take that long, and you know they job will be done right!

I've changed it a few times, I know how.
My request is for a recommendation of a Vancouver area Porsche service provider. Is this any clearer?

Ahh, a Porsche service provider, that's much more clearer, you didn't mention the brand in your post.

Generally I find Porsche Centre Vancouver to be pretty good. For me they've been pretty reliable, and John Broek knows his stuff, although I've only had a couple things done there. I used to bring my car to Speedway in Victoria, until they burned me big time. I don't trust independents, as they don't have the brand and its infinite power to back them up. If you have a problem with the dealer, you can bring it up with Porsche Canada, and they will sort it out.

Hope this helps.

I have also used Vancouver Porche Centre in the past. John Broek and Helmut Penner are really good. Having said that I now use Scan and find them just as good.

I have used Scan and they do good work but for me not convenient in North Van. I went to JB Motorsports where you get the expertise of the big dealership at much more reasonable hourly rate.

Please, this guy does not know what he is doing.
Did an oil service on my 993,put the old damaged oil drain plug back and his excuse was that " I do not like to order parts from MCL". A porsche service shop that does not have even one spare oil drain plug,if he had called me I would have brought him from my spare parts at home.

Pretty hard to believe,But true.

Also, For PCA Members. Porsche Centre Vancouver (McL) now gives 15% discount on parts and labour on both service and over the counter parts sales. This brings their labour rate very close to the level of the independents.

Turn3 automotive, had an alignment and corner balance done there, nice shop and they seem to be very competent as they do engine builds etc. If you go on their website they say that the first oil service is free in order to promote their business and get you to try their service.

This is for Ali
Mr. Ali
You came to my shop ones, with your own oil and filter, your car was leaking oil and you need the top end re seal. I said that MCL didn't have many parts in stock and this is why I didn't like dealing with them, also I said that I run out of drain plugs and I was waiting for stock from SSF in California.
If you had an spare drain plug how cam you didn't bring it like you did with your own oil and filter.
I think you where not happy because I told you that your car need it lots of work, SORRY!! but maybe you should go back to the guy that service your car before me, and ask him how come is leaking so much. We have seen your car only that one time.
The drain plug (not a plain drain plug)was for the thermostat part number 993 207 258 02. I'm sorry for not having the part in stock.

A friend of mine had a problem with Scan, they misdiagnosed his car then tried to charge him a 20 percent restocking charge on the wrong parts they ordered.

I use Blitzkrieg Autowerks, near Main and E 2nd, although he might be moving to a new location just east on Great Northern Way in a couple of months. He's a Porsche specialist.
