I enjoyed so many things about the video you're about to watch, which shows how a Porsche 918 Spyder is built in the automaker's factory in Zuffenhausen, Germany. There was one part that left me underwhelmed, though.

WOW!!! What a nice video!!! Thanks for the link! At 02:50 what is the long cylindrical unit he slide in? Seems to be an oil pump??? We can see the gear in the hole a bit later….Strange design???

What's the doohicky (technical term) being installed over the camshaft?
It looks like its simply screwed to the head, and has significant clearance to the camshaft.
