Freeport Porsche & Huntington Porsche are both in the $700s, i Believe $750 & $720, respectively. I havent hit the 20k mark yet so Ill probably go in for it in the end of winter...beginning of spring...
Okay, got another 2 quotes:
Dealer 2 (Danbury Porsche) charges $425 for a 20K service- no fuel additive.
Dealer 3 (South Shore Porsche) charges $740 for a 20K service- no fuel additive.

I like the idea of going to a dealer so that Porsche NA can never hassel me about using an indie, but $300 for a guy who has a shop that does nothing but Porsche work for the last 20 years is really good. He installed my bypass pipe and is 5 minutes from work, but he is not "Porsche approved."
He seems to be reputable, but what if it bites me in the tail if there is ever a problem and they say I didn't have my 20K service done by a dealership/"Porsche approved service location"?
I could have my wife drive over to Danbury (which is 40 minutes away) and they will do it while she is shopping in the Danbury mall (they'll bring her over), but that could end up being just as expensive as going to Pepe and paying $850.

guys...
the 20K service is changing the oil, changing the cabin filter (here in SoCal) and the normal checkpoint inspection.
Change the oil yourself, on the V6 it's REALLY easy and fast.
If you tell the SA that the oil is done, cabin filter is done... they'll nip you for about $300 to perform the inspection.

Hey Golden- but if I take it to the Indie he will do it all for $300. What do you think about using a reputtable 20yr Porsche independent?
Anyone use anyone other than a dealer for service?

legally they can't deny warranty because work was done by an owner or indie shop.
I mean the skill required to change the oil is like 10th grade auto-shop.
FYI- I used to build and race cars when I was a younger man, so I have the knowledge and tools. I know the oil change is easy, and I can get the parts from Suncoast. But I wonder if my dealer will do the reminder reset if I do my own work- they can be such a pain.
Yes I've heard they will. But that still leaves the multipoint inspection and the TSB's and the ECU updates.
I loved auto shop!
3 periods a day of being immersed in automotive fun was awesome.
Sometimes I would "borrow" a car/test drive it over to my girlfriends so I could pick her up and see her faster. :-)

We spent most of the time servicing the school district's cars, lol...
Nowadays in todays litigious society, can you imagine letting students work on district vehicles?
