I had to start a new thread because I couldn't reply to the oringinal thread.
Thank you all for your information and some just opinions. RTFM, yes, I did read the manual. The 'service now' sign goes away and the manual did NOT indicate if the sign would go away or not. I thought that the sign would stay on, so all I wanted was to ask someone who knows the car better than I do to confirm that's how it works.

Anyway, I have my answer and I am going to schedule an appointment to get the 40K mile service done.
