Speaking of brakes, the dealer who sold me my CTT said the pads are just about done and need replacing...I tried to get him to do it, but he refused since they were still good to drive on for a little while longer...I'm getting the truck next week and am about to just order pads for it now online...has anyone heard of EBC brakes? I am looking at their Redstuff and Yellowstuff...the Yellow are high end pads meant more for track use but it says they are perfectly good for street use...from the pics, they look very thick...was wondering if anyone has any experience with them because I'm about to order front and rear pads (Yellow).

Be careful. Pad selection is pretty important. Track pads are harder and will provide superior stopping power when warm and not so much when cold. They also tend to squeal when stopping under normal driving conditions.

I had Pagid yellows on my 911 and they were awesome when they were warm but I had to be careful when they were cold. Think of pulling out of the driveway and going down the block and having to apply hard brakes to stop before you hit a kid on a bike. No time to warm those things up.

The EBC yellows look like good pads but dust is also a consideration. I will be buying the EBC Redstuff Ceramic Premium Brake Pads.

Thanks for the info Captain Tal...from the description of the EBC brakes, they say the Yellow pads work very well even when cold...I don't know how much to trust a product description...but the cost differential is so minimal from Red to Yellow...

So, you guys think I should skip the OEM stuff and go to Hawk? What about a replacement for OEM rotors?

I was thinking of using these Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors I found on eBay. Anyone know anything? They look and sound good. My Tuner has installed them and likes them.

Golden- did you do the brake fluid change at the same time?

What did it run you for the full set for front & rear?

Did you move to bigger brakes while you were at it?

Thanks!

no.

I picked up fronts only from sunset imports @ like $200/pr and the pads were $130 from tirerack. Sensors and bolts like $30.

Will do rears later.
