19" Cayenne wheel replacement tire rec's???

Anyone have an replacement tire rec's for a Cayenne S? Its currently wearing the 19" OEM spec'd Continental's... open to any suggestions, but just tire rec's please as not changing the wheels for now. Car rarely sees snow, mostly city/hwy driving, w/ mild offroad terrain on occassion. We have the 997TT for performance driving, so looking more for a good all-around tire w/ good tread life.

Damon at TireRack.com recommended them to me earlier this year. I'll be buying a set in the spring.

I like the Toyo Proxes,,,they can be bought for under $200 per tire at Edgeracing.

My Cayenne was used and it also has the 19 inch wheels...but whoever replaced the tires before me upped the tire's width to a 285 tire instead of the standard 275...both sizes are available from Toyo at Edgeracing and both are around $195.

I went w/ the Michelin Latitude Tour HP 19" M+S... My former Conti's were performance tires, not M+S rated. Now gives us option to hit the snow w/o chains. Bought the tires from my local Porsche dealer (not much more than online prices, and frankly I don't have the time), and had the alignment done as well (thankful for dealer's open Saturday service!). Overall the tire profile looks great on the car, not sure if its default 19" but noticed a lot all of the new '08 Cayenne's at the dealer had the same tire. Not sure if its the tire, the re-alignment, or both, but the ride of the car thru crappy SF city streets feels much smoother... better on highways as well. Service tech warned me it might be a bit louder or stiffer given the tire type and high tread life rating, but ride actually feels smoother and quieter. So far loving this choice! Pics to follow when I get a chance...

I'm really impressed with the Pirelli Scorpion Zero Assimetrico tires. Street price (275/45-19) is about $260 each. It is an all-season tire, so the rain and occasional light snow is not a factor. Being close to Lake Tahoe, you just may get a bee up your butt to head up there in winter.

I have this tire (295/30-22) on 22" wheels and the performance is amazing! The tires are quiet and they wear nicely too. I rotate AND balance every 5000 miles.

Check out TireRack.com for reviews on all of the tires that are being recommended.
