Is it possible to buy the porsche nav head unit and have it installed in a cayenne that came with the basic radio?

Would be a very expensive project. I am thinking about pulling my PCM on my 08 and putting in a AVIC-3 Double Din. I bought the PCM for future resale because PCM is almost a given to many people anymore.

The double din kits are nice(the ones from japen or ebay) but I have to figure out the total cost of the project before I decide to give in the get the Dension Unit 500. I want Xm Radio and I won't pay $1200 for the module from Porsche.

If I can get the Dension 500 that plays XM, IPOD and Bluetooth for under 1K then I will keep the PCM.

Yes this is very possible and would not be a hard install at all....

If you are interested, I might be selling my stock PCM.... which is brand new and has never been used, still wrapped in Porsche protective film......

I can actually get more if there is enough interest....all brand new

Can you elaborate about the install? Is it as straight forward as removing the radio unit plus the bin below it, then plugging in the PCM? or is there more to it?

it is the simplistic of al Porsche installs. you will need the dealer to code for the new PCM if you were to buy it. I found a PCM in a junk yard on line in Utah for $500. it will be all plug and play. I also have some changers cheap.

I'd love to see more pics of your mods including A/V. Also, would like to know your lessons learned and what you would do differently.
