To sum it up, Car Magazine says the Cayenne Turbo gets 500 HP in '06, a slight facelift in '07, and a whole new Cayenne comes out in '09

Spicing up Cayenne
Joining the 997 at this autumn's Paris Motor Show will be a Cayenne Targa, with a huge, multi-panel glass roof. It's the first of a host of tweaks to the 4X4. Next year, the Cayenne Turbo gets beefed up to 500bhp. In 2006, the displacement of the V6 engine goes up from 3.2 to 3.6 litres, ramping up power by ten percent to 275bhp.
In 2007, the Cayenne Club Sport is due, introducing the all-new V8 engine bound for E2. Today's V8 expires in 2007, axed because Porsche didn't design it with Euro V emissions regulations in mind, and cannot be converted to direct-injection.
Peak power is 375bhp, which should ensure the Club Sport eclipes the BMW X5 4.8iS. Weight saving measures include shedding 4wd, most diff locks and all of its off-road gear in favour of rear-wheel drive, bigger wheels, a revised suspension with a clear on-road bias, ceramic composite brakes and quicker steering.
Also in 2007, the SUV gets an overdue facelift, and there is even talk of another body style, be it twin-cab pick-up (!!!), Long-wheelbase power cruiser or a short-wheelbase two-door sportser.
The Cayenne MkII due late in 2009 will retain all-wheel drive and the trick air suspension, but is bound to be lighter, less complex, more aerodynamic, longer, roomier- and hopefully a lot prettier.
