quality issues
It has been over 10 days without my cayenne turbo, Seems no air would come out of the rear center console (non-rear, 4 zone system)......... Took the CT in and guess what....... after COMPLETELY disassembling the entire front dash and center console.... seems that a central VENT was never installed at the factory. ONLY 7 of these parts were in existance and all were found Germany..... I saw the CT completely disasembled.....
everything out including the steering wheel. well the part finnally arrived.... seems only one other Cayenne has ever reported this problem and the Part? is not even illustrated in the exploded parts view diagram of the cayenne dealers parts manual?
any way..... got the CT back yeasterday... Air now does flow out the rear center conlole as it is supposed to do.... but.....seems the re-assembly did'nt go as smoothly (imagine getting it all back together as good as a factory assembly???) not quite
pieces didn't line up perfectly...... Just a heads up for you all to check the airflow out of the rear center vents........
NOW I am being told.... as part of a RECALL that the TRANSFER CASE has to be replaced? all the parts have been ordered, and they are backordered because of the the RECALL.....BTW this "recall" is not done unless you bring the cayenne in for some type of service... IE.... no written notice to alert you to the recall.
the transfer case is part of the 4WD system/transmission.
Just a heads up to you all.... with some quality issues I have run into so far with my 2004 Cayenne Turbo.
