Tire Wear

The missus drives a Turbo with Pirelli tires on 19"wheels which have approximately 15.000 kilometres or in Fahrenheit 9300 miles.

The front tires sound similar to a set of retreads on a Kenworth and they are worn on the inside(s). The noise of the Pirellis is much greater than a set of Dunlop winter booties on 18" rims that were used as a winter set.

At the dealer today she was told to think about a complete replacement of all the Pirelli tires as they are basically done for and require replacement. Is this not early???? Do I have an undetected driveline issue that has scrubbed the fronts down to nothing??

Any input would be appreciated and recommendations for a replacement tire are very welcome. Thanks in advance.

The P-Rosso is more of a performance street tire designed primarimly fo car use, but just happens to fit the truck and carry its weight OK so is regurally used. The Continental Sport 4x4 Contact and Michelin Diamaris both are designed as truck tires and may give you a little more life. While the Pirelli is the softest and will corner the best it will probably wear the quickest as well. Most of my customers seem to prefer the ride and wear characteristics of the Michelin the best. And, the Diamaris carries the Porsche N0 spec, too.

Thanks for your reply Damon.

Does the Michelin Diamaris come in a 275/45R-19 inch diameter?? There is no such animal listed in a Canadian catalogue but I will go Stateside if required.
