Brake pad install

Just finished installing brake pads, front and rear 1 1/2- 2 hours tops, for only $300 (pads only, rotors still good) Can't believe I paid $600 for just the front at the stealer. Probably the easiest pad install I've ever done.
Got the parts from SunCoast; great prices and service.

Is it the same as switching out the pads on the 911?

Same thing, unbolt and slide out the retaining pin, take out old pads, compress pistons and slide in new pads. EASY.

I thought there were some consumable parts that need to be replaced also (wear sensors, springs/clips, etc.). Does the piston compression require a special tool also?

To compress the piston, just use a channel wrench to squeeze the calipers. Just buy new wear sensors to clip into the new brake pads or you can try to pop out the sensors from the old pad.

You need the new sensors, the old ones will be shot.
