Plastic Interior trim

I am coming up for my 40k service on my 04 S. I'm having a problem with my center console area. It seems that it gets scratched just by looking at it. It gets scratched way too easily and is looking banged up even with the care i take. Is this something that is covered under warranty that I can ask the dealer to swap out?

thanks

ABC is infamous around these parts
i think it will be a hard sell to get the dealer to replace this part under warranty. it's only scratched and not broken. however, if you have a good relationship with your dealer (i.e., dealer services the car routinely), they may do it as a good will gesture.

Try cleaning it using an interior cleaner and then condition the plastic. Just like your skin being dry, using a moisturizer helps the vinyl, plastic, and leather.

Thanks Moe, Ill give it a try and see how it turns out. I'm still bummed that it seems to be painted with cheap paint that would come off so easily.

anybody else have this issue?

I have some scratches in the center console and around the door/window switches.
I bought mine used last summer ... seems like a lot of wear for those areas.

Emart thats common with Cayennes and Tourages to tell you the truth, if you still have the warranty I am pretty sure its covered.

I have the same problem with our new 08 CTT. The silver paint doesn't hold up well to normal use.
