arling or damon, help!

Hey guys, quick question for ya.

Before I get my new wheels next month (BBS RXii 21"), I have to get a set of intermediary tires that will last me until then since mine are 100% shot (figures ). I have a very good connection through good year, thus I have to get tires from them until I go up to my 21" wheel, because then I will be back to the Diamaris. Anyways, I have a set of 295/40/20 Wrangler F1 tires they have sent me. I plan on using these for a month or so.

My question is, is this completely ridiculously dangerous on a 9" wide wheel? I dont plan on doing much spirited cornering, and I plan on them just getting me by. I know both of you have directed me against this, but it is the only way for me to go right now as it would be a waste for me to buy brand new tires when I will be getting a whole new size in approx. 1 month. So, if you look beyond he staistics, and into your smart professional minds, would you really strongly advise this? Thanks for your help.

Harris

so if I drive carefully and am not overly agressive, these tires should hold up for a while?

I mean what is the biggest danger? Debeading?

possible, but u never know what's gonna happen. i think, just think it might work but haven't seen it or tried it before. since this is a special case i'd say try it first & go from there. not recommended though!

My "official" answer is that tire needs to be on a MINIMUM 10" wide rim. If you choose to try it on the 9" rim, keep your air pressure as close to maximum recommended pressure as possible (44psi) to make sure the bead stays on, and watch the corners. This fitment will overly stress the shoulders of the tire and cause premature wear. If you have to do it for a short time, that's better than a permamnent tire, but I still would'nt if it were mine - free tires or not. Consider what's at stake.......

ok guys, got the tires in Thursday and all I cn say is WOW! They actually believe it or not, fit perfect! They are Goodyear Wrangler F1, and are 295/40zr20. Maybe Goodyear tires are a tad slimmer? But anyways, they are in no way bulging on the side, and the sidewalls are perfect for the rim. I actually went to an autocross, and they were VERY stable. I am so happy!
