Thumbs down Kahn Design Wheel Problem NJ

Hey All

I have 2 Kahn RSC Wheels 22s... had 2 of them re-done by USA wheels in Fairfield NJ.

Problem is they dont match factory Kahn finish, I am looking for suggestions on what to do, I am going to call them tomrrow and ask why they dont match and hopefully they can redo them the right way.

I dont want to have the other 2 Factory finish wheels re-done because the finish on the Kahns are brighter silver and sleeker looking finish.

See pictures below

AFTER REPAIR

Original Kahn Finish

I dont know if you can tell but there is a finish difference.

MLC,

Personally I prefer the refinshed finsh (if you know what I mean!) Looks a little more understated - which I like.

If it was me -I would refinsh them all so they match perfectly. Or... you could put one side one fish - and the other side another - after all.. you cant look at both sides at once?

Best,

Simon.

The better solution than to try to get them to match and most of the time they can't get it exact is to have them repaint all 4. That would be a simple solution. It can be done to match but how much time are you willing to find someone who says they can and actually make it match or just repaint the other two and make them match the new finish. It actually doesn't look bad(new finish).

Best of luck. Post some pics of your whole car.

Regards,

Khanh

How much was it to refinish a wheel vs. the cost a new wheel?

Should be able to repaint a set of wheels like that for under $600 bones total. I was quoted about that for a set of wheels with a mesh and 3 piece.

If you want to have the original silver on all 4, I can get the paint code from Kahn. Otherwise, I would say refinish the other 2 so they match the newly refinished wheel.

I agree with the others, the "new" finish actually looks a little nicer, I'd refinish the other two to match and call it a day - Maybe talk to the guys that did the other two and see if they will cut you a deal since their original work isn't matching up.

Ok, heres the deal. I forgot the wheels are actually powder coated, but I talked to my guy at Kahn, and he said that Kahn in England wont give them the info on the color, and only refinish them in house. BUT, Kahn in NJ send the wheels to a shop in PA and he says theyve been able to match the color.

Wheel Collision Center 610-837-8792

Other than those guys, you might be able to find a local powder coating shop that can match them.

Love the Kahn Rsc's

Just bought my first porsche('05 Blk Cayenne S) a week ago and wanting to get a set of the Rsc's. Where did you end up getting yours from and how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking???? BTW...I have that same A/C stink that I saw mentioned in another thread...I'll try the noted suggestions.

Thanks.
