programming seat memory and remote key, how to???

i tried the procedure listed in the owners manual several times to no avail. anyone have a few tips or tricks on how to get this done. i have the memory seats set in #1 and #3 but cannot get the key to coincide with either one.

are you talking about programming with the keyless entry / drive, and the plastic key in the ignition? I tried doing mine per instructions and only got it to take on one of the keys. can't seem to get it to take on the second key, even though both keys program fine when inserted into the ignition.

all i am trying to do is have my wifes remote unlock the doors while moving the driver seat to her programmed position memory # 1, and when i unlock the door with my remote have the seat move to my programmed position memory # 3. i have done this with just about every other car that she has owned, but cant figure out the cayenne, even when following the instructions step by step, which has me quite puzzled.
