2009 Cayenne Turbo S help
Posted part of this in another thread, but figured it might be wise to start one for the topic.
Now that I've decided on the S550 for My car, I've also decided on the Cayenne Turbo S for my SUV. I'm doing black on tan or spice and I will be tinting the corners. I really want 997 Turbo style wheels for it with a black & brushed finish. I'd really like to do the wheel with a black lip with the red/painted trim piece between the lip and the tire (not sure what it is called) and have that color keyed to something else on the vehicle if I did it any color other than red. I have a picture in my head, and it seems cool, but I could be wrong.
Any ideas on other cool things that can be done to the Cayenne TS without ripping it apart (it will be a lease vehicle).
I really hate the nav in it, has anyone had experience putting in aftermarket nav/audio systems in the Cayennes? I'm thinking a Pioneer AVIC-Z3 with bluetooth, iPod, nav traffic, DVD, navtraffic, TV tuner and all the other goodies. PRobably throw a couple screens in the headrests to run off of it as well. So I know that is one mod I'd make and hope that their steering wheel control functions will work with the Cayenne.
Between tinting the windows really dark, replacing the nav/radio, and throwing new wheels on it, I'm not really sure what else to do. I did test drive the GTS before I drove the Turbo S and the GTS was unimpressive save for its exterior appearance. Perhaps throwing some sort of body kit on it would be cool. Something subtle but nice.
So, any other ideas?

It sounds like you've pretty much nailed it in regards to the windows and wheels. Since the car is a lease, I wouldn't install a body kit. But if you must, TechArt and others do make body kits for the 955 and the 957 Cayennes. Just make sure everything can be taken off prior to the end of the lease.
Same goes for the interior - make sure what ever you install can be removed and the vehicle brought back to original condition. I believe there is a Porsche entertainment system that includes a LCD screen behind each front headrest. Check the Porsche website. Yes, the OE navigation is a joke. If you don't order PCM, a 3rd Party navigation system could be a strong choice. Should be a straight forward installation.
Performance is pretty impressive on the turbo - no real need to play with any power/handling upgrades unless money is no object. Remember, it will be a lease.
You may want to install a lowering model, like what is offered by TechArt. Do a search on this subject - tonnes of threads dedicated to the lowering module.
As far as exhaust, it's up to you. The sound of a stock 957 turbo may be just fine for you, or maybe not. Again, do a search on the subject. Isn't there an optional exhaust system for the 957 turbo and GTS that has an exhaust switch? If that's the case, have your turbo configured with it. Others may chime in on this, and encouraged.
By the way, I love the S550 - amazing technology and styling. Great choice for a sedan.

You said you test drove a Turbo S already?? The car is not out yet! The upcoming Turbo S should have a new touch screen PCM.

might also have the 7 speed and a few other changes.
We'll see though when all those finally hit the cars.......
I agree that the Turbo will give you the "wow" factor when accelerating, but the GTS was built for the track.
It is lowered more so than the other Cayenne's and it has different standard sport seats.
These options were the main reasons I opted for the GTS over the Turbo.
My GTS wasn't cheap either, it was about $98K, but I just didn't wnat the same options that I had in the GTS in a Turbo for a price of $129K. Just couldn't see it being that much better for the price.
They are both wonderful cars though.
The new Turbo S, will be that of the GTS, but with a Turbo engine.
Best of both worlds. If that was out when I purchased mt GTS, I probably would have opted for this new Turbo S.

It is a great LOOKING truck, but the 06 Turbo S out did it, so I can't wait to see what happens when I get in an 09.
I would imagine the GTS and the Turbo / Turbo S, given that that all have the PASM and PDCC will handle almost identicle.
The only difference there is that the GTS's lowest driveable setting is a tad lower in height than all the rest.
But I bet that isn't even noticeable when driving them hard.
But I can't wait for the new Turbo S; that will be one incredible machine.
