Cayenne Turbo vs. Turbo S ??

I am in search of info. on what distinguishes a Turbo from a Turbo S.

The car I am specifically trying to gather data on is an '04 Turbo S.

Was there a Turbo non-S in that/those year(s)?

I have had a hard time finding pointed info. on it....I did find some info. on later models i.e. later years S had more boost, but even that was scant and only found it referenced one place on web.

I know a lot of places to get comprehensive spec.s on other Porsche models but not having much luck w/ Cayennes. If anybody knows a good comprehensive resource that would be helpful.

Also can anyone tell me anything about a factory tow package? What exactly it includes and/or what it cost as option and/or how rare it is?

Thanks in adavnce for any help.

I'm just learning all of this stuff myself but I don't think the Turbo S came out until 2006. Before that they were just Turbos. I most definitely could be wrong.

OCPorsche is infamous around these parts
Well the 'Turbo S' was not released until 2006. There was a power upgrade kit that brought HP to about 500 (instead of 520 like the 06 Turbo S). If I am correct it was a $19K option. It included a modified intake, bigger brakes and different computer system. Was rare to find because it was such a large option. That might be what they were referring to.

The factory towing package included the trailer hitch with the wiring but without the ball hitch (because there are different sizes) The Cayenne can tow 7,700 lbs. Its a $650 option (I think) from the factory but putting it on after is about 4X that amount.

OK - so now I'm really confused.

The car I'm seeking info. on - supposedly an '04 "Turbo S" - is a customer's car that I am trying to sell for him....hence I want to know what I can about it.

Was the power upgrade kit "Techqiupment" stuff?

I need to look at the manual which unfortunately I don't have in front of me, but it is definitely an '04 and says "Cayenne Turbo S" on the back and the script is definitely dead centered, in other words without the "S" the script would be left of center.

The car hasn't been wrecked....which doesn't mean some idiot might not have put "Cayenne Turbo S" badges on it post '06.

None of the door-jam or underhood badging is any help and without a VIN decoder the VIN is no help either. I don't have the build sheet or dealer sticker. Maryland registration just says Porsche TK. I have PET software....maybe that would tell me something?

I was actually really surprised to find out how little detailed information was readily available on the web regarding Cayenne specifics....even on later year models and what differentiated "S" from non"S". If you want any kind of information on any 911 based car you can find out more than you want to know in about 5 min....how many lapis blue automatic 996s went to Iowa in 1997 you could find in 10 clicks!

I also deal with a lot very experienced Porsche techs, factory and otherwise....they have no clue.

I have the manual in a different location so hopefully that will tell me something.

Someone told me that the tow package included enhanced cooling capabilities, presumably larger radiator? I do know big rad.s are a component of factory tow packages in a lot of typical trailer towing vehicles, pickups, Suburbans and the like.

I meant how "many blue 993s to Iowa 1997"

My friend's father has a Turbo S with a Revo chip and Tubi exhaust system. The thing is faster than a lot of 911's.
