Dealer or Local Reputable Shop?

Would you take your Cayenne (especially the new ones...2008) to your dealer or local reputable shop (the shop that has been dealing with Porsche only for 20+ years) for check up/problems/oil change??? This is the shop that's well-known in local Porsche/Audi community...

Dealer just charges way too much compared to the shop... any Pros (besides saving money) & Cons you see if I take it to the local shop?

Thanks...

Dealer doesn't cover the work you want under warranty?

Regardless it's a Cayenne not a GT2, take it where ever.

LOL...forgot about warranty. Not that it has problems now but I asked just in case.

Mainly I meant 'maintenance' wise...thanks!

I think it depends on how much you trust/respect your local dealer and local reputable shop. I mean here in LA there are many great dealers, and great after market shops. While my car is still under warranty and assuming it is not a “major” service/procedure, I’d just take it to the dealer. That being said I have gone to a different service center from where I purchased my car since the dealer I purchased my car from does not have the greatest service reputation.

Not saying the Cayenne isn’t a great car, but I think I would be far more picky about who works on my car if I were driving a GT2 or Carrera GT you know?
