Glove box manual holder will not stay up!

Hi,

My dealer said it's ok but every time I drive it, the manual falls down and then I can't get anything in my glove box. Anyone find a solution to this?

I have a 2004 Touareg, should be the same...

Thanks!

It's a common issue. I put my manuals down below not in the ... shelf. I just put the light weight stuff up there and it still comes down. You just have to hold it up to close the wine cooler. I'm only in there once a month, not a big deal for me.

I guess if it bugs you, you could put a piece of velcro above and on the shelf edge and it would stay closed.

It does really bug me, being an engineer I just HATE poor designs... the velcro trick might work, I certainly have enough of that around. I was thinking that it would bug everyone, and they may have come up with a real fix for this problem by now.

Thanks!
