Ryan, Yes I noticed that too. The AT looks like it is missing a hubcap.

Actually I found the price. So 3700 per set? About the same price as the Techart. I think that the AT wheels aka Gemballa does not look good with plain Cayenne with no bodykit.

Do you guys think like those no-turn caps would fit in the hole on the AT Wheels, I mean as in the hole in the middle while the nuts would still be exposed

Anyone thinking about maybe purchasing AT Wheels?

Yes they should fit but Ralph has halted production on the No-Turn Caps. But you can get custom caps with the large crests but they will turn with the wheel. I just placed an order

Does anyone currently have these AT Italia Wheels on their Cayenne? Anyone thinking about maybe getting them after this remarkable discovery?

I would get it if I do not have any wheels in order. Also if I have the gemballa kit on otherwise I will stay away from it, it looks too much on a non modified car.

CayenneS:

The At Italia are very soft wheels. I would try to stick to a forged wheel or ones that are known to be faiyly strong (OZ, BBS, etc). Hope this helps.

Thats what I was afraid of, TCM-- thanks for the input!! I am suprized that the Gemballa wheels aren't of such high quality construction as they should be for the price (that is if they are made by the same people as AT Italia). I think they may just be different wheels. Oh well lets keep our eyes open and our ears sharp on the matter-- maybe something new will arise!

CayenneS, how do quantify that wheel being overly soft? I disagree.

The spoke pattern of this wheel allows it to withstand impact very well because the force of a hit is distributed over all the spokes, not to spaces between them. Multi spoke wheels are stronger tha a five spoke wheel. To some degree, the stainless lip provides a small degree of strength, too.

I have no more bending problems on ATI than I do other wheels that are twice the price. Wheels bend partly due to 35 series tires, too! Forged wheels are just as strong and many times stronger, and definitely lighter, but to say this is an inferior wheel without proof is unfair.

I beleive you were reffering to me as I posted what you qouted. I have had some bad experiences with AT Italia in the past and have come away unimpressed with their stregnth. With the multiple spoke, it may indeed be stronger. I have had much better luck with BBS and OZ then the AT Italia. Just my .02 cents.

Ryan, Once again, If the AT Italia wheels are in fact the same as the Gemballa, the traditional Porsche or Ralph Booth's center cap WILL NOT fit the center hole.

Thanks guys-- I think I'm going to stay away from the AT Italia, but who knows maybe over time my opinion will change... still have a couple months before i'll get new wheels because I'm gonna wait for my tires to wear out. I am suprised by the attention this particular topic got-- 88 responses and over 1000 hits! WOW! I must be pretty popular in here =P

Lol.. just messing guys-- it was fun!
