Check oil level right after oil service...
I brought my vehicle to oil service 2 days ago and they changed the oil and they changed it with Valvoline 5w-40 at the local dealer (I used to put 0W-40 Mobil 1). Then I drove it for 150 miles and check oil level alarm popped up. I had to drive it back home for another 50 miles and instead of driving without oil, I added the 0w-40 Mobil 1 that I always carry in my trunk.
Questions:
1) Why do you think it asked for oil right after oil service. I only drove it 150 miles. Did the stealer really stole oil from me?
2) Why did they put Valvoline? Why did they put 5W-40 instead of the recommended Mobil 1 0W-40?
3)Should I go to dealer and yell at them or call Porsche USA to complain?
4) Will a mixture of 5W-40 Valvoline and 0W-40 Mobil 1 cause a problem in the engine?

Ok, so I'm a tech at a dealer and that is just not right. There are other approved oils, but every tech I know and every dealer has Mobil One in bulk and on tap. We used to use 15-50, but always Mobil One. There is no reason not to use it. Just for future info, Mobil one says you can mix any of their oils, but I would not be mixing it with anything else. Especially after some of the oil problems I've seen, although most of that has come from 10k mile (or more) oil changes. Off hand, I dont know if any of the Valvoline oil is on the approved list, but not that it is mixed, I would have it changed and have 0-40 Mobil One put in it. For Free. It just doesn't make any sense to me why a dealer would do that. Tuffy or Jiffy Lube maybe, but not a dealer.
