I hope you took H-101 along the coast to really enjoy the trip. I can think of no better vehicle than CGTS for a roadtrip. I'm sure you'll have fun on the drive to Whistler this winter!

2009 gts

Got it last November, so far I am very happy with it. Handles great, sounds amazing when in sport mode, feels expensive...and it is.

A cayenne is the best car your money can buy, for sure. I have Cayenne S ('08) and a '08 Maserati Granturismo, but I'd choose Cayenne for daily driver because of the comfort and sporty handling and it really is a daily driver car..

I bought my Cayenne S back in 04 when it first came out. Its my daily and I love it so much that I only changed a few things (tint, in dash stereo and 22 rims). Everything else is stock and it drives like a dream. Can't speak more highly about it. Great ride

I also just took my baby on a marathon. Drove from Vegas to SF then down H1 to Orange County then to SD then back to Vegas. Handled the trip easier then I did driving it.

I do feel that I go through tires a bit quicker than normal. May be the way I drive though

we have a 06 CS for the wife and an 02 996TT tip (so she can drive too)...CS her wife's daily car and every time i get to drive it i can't believe the ride...best suv by far. cornering is unbeatable..yeah the seats initially feel hard but long trips are definitely doable. wife won't even touch the 996tt now. and when we drive it on weekends together, she wants to drive... we had the car for about a year and a half and 20k miles. there was a big problem with one of the cylinder controls going ($1k+ repair) but warranty covered it. yesterday the driver side cornering light went out so i'm taking it to the dealer...yeah, i get to drive~!

I just picked up my '09 GTS 1.5 weeks ago after storing my 997 C2S for the winter. I have to say I enjoy driving the GTS almost as much as the 911. So far no complaints whatsoever. The other great thing is Porsche is finally starting to catch up in terms of technology making their PCM, iPod hook-up, and NAV as good, if not better than any other cars out there. I just wish more of the GTS' were available with entry & drive. Tracking down a Macadamia Brown GTS with the options I wanted was a pain.

Worn outside shoulders on front tires

I drive a 2009 GTS everyday, and I think is a great everyday car...my only concern is that today I noticed that the front tires are getting worn very fast on the outside shoulder. I will take it to the dealer to see what is going on, it has only 3K miles and I have not pushed her hard on turns (yet). Comments will be appreciated.

same issues with my yokos. Porsche won't warranty ANY tire. Deal with it is what I was told..... Normal issue.

Rotate to back and replace at 10k.

The reason is when you apply brake, inertia of the car tries to move it forward and you might have realized that it forces your car to kneel to the front. That effect causes the increased wear on the front tires. Cayenne is a heavy and fast vehicle and if you try to drive it like a sports car, tire wearing is inevitable. Get used to it, rotate them (switch front and rears of the same side) at 6k, and replace them at 12k. Yes, 12k is nothing for tires but don't forget that you are driving a heavy beast.

Heavy vehicle

I agree that the vehicle is heavy, but I also own an X5 that is very heavy as well, also has high performance summer tires; they have 25K miles on them and still have like 40% of the thread. Since I have staggered tires; I can't rotate them. I certainly think that something is wrong with my GTS. One thing that I noticed is that when parking with the steering locked to one side; you can feel that the tires are not rotating freely, you can feel the tires scuffing against the pavement. Has someone experienced the same?
