Have you installed and tested yet and, if so, what is your opinion? I am interested in one. What is the theory behind this unit?

We have installed it on a GTI and a E320 Mercedes so far. Going in on a E39 M5 today. Waiting on the Cayenne to get back in here.

The driving feel is very different. Much improved. The cars are so much more responsive. You no longer have to wait on the car to respond. Now, you push the accelerator and there is an almost instant feedback under acceleration. You no longer have to drive anticipating when you will need the gas.

I really like the way it feels. It does make the car more responsive and some people may not like that because when you push down (or let off for that matter) the car does what its being told. You pretty much have to relearn to drive a bit. When I first got in, I spun the wheels because I pushed down to get out of the parking lot and it went!

How is it doing this though??? And where does the module mount? I assume it is only modifying the drive by wire signaling correct?

The module installs under the dash at the pedal. It is an in-line unit that connects between the the wiring and the pedal. You pull the connector and wire out for the assembly, insert the module and reconnect.

It modifies the input signal.

According to the graph on their website, it looks like it just increases the voltage so that, once installed, your normal 3/4 throttle input is reached at the 1/2 throttle input position. In other words, you could just punch the throttle to the 3/4 position and achieve the same thing as this device achieves at 1/2 throttle. It seems to just give you a 'punchier' throttle. I drive w/ tiptronic probably 95% of the time so I don't typically get any lag since I'm in the gear I want all the time. Seems like this could be achieved w/ an ECU tune as well (if you are going to do that anyway).

One of you should open up your Sprint Booster to see what components are used (likely resistors and signal amplifiers) and then manufacture your own for ~$5. You could make a killing selling them for even $50

Sprint Booster installed yesterday

Just wanted to give a heads up that i went ahead and installed this thing yesterday on my own, only took me 10 min........

Only been driving with it for 2 days but my 08 cayenne turbo feels like a whole new car. I use to drive in sport mode + pasm off all the time to get the full use out of the 500+hp and to take away that annoying throttle lag. I must say, driving with the sprint booster installed along with sport mode and pasm off will take a little getting used to because the car is VERY responsive now. I mean the thing just wants to JUMP with a slight touch of the gas with pasm off. It just takes a few days of getting use to it to master it. I now find myself driving in only sport mode and leaving pasm on. The cayenne feels much more responsive and natural like a sports car should feel. If anyone out there wants a more responsive pepper, i recommend! If you feel like you’re happy with the way your cayenne responds now, stay away from it.

I have also added the cargraphics "euro" exhaust system, bmc filters, hyper sport diverter valves, rinspeed lowering module and rinspeed 22inch rims. If any of you have questions about any of this stuff, let me know.....

I had a 330ci previously. The throttle was a little choppy.

However, I have no complaints regarding my 996 or the Cayenne. They seem fine to me. I say if it's not broke why fix it

I went out the website. It's testimonials like that make the product look a little bit shady. Over the top, no? I wonder if the manufacturer wrote these?

"I was skeptical too about the benefits of installing a SB. I figured, as you do - what's the difference ... just mash down harder on the accelerator for the same impact. Well, somehow the SB does more than that: the lag is totally gone; the rev's climb lightening fast; and shift speeds are twice as quick. It's like the E60 has a whole new brain - the brain of Lewis Hamilton instead of Mr. Bean. It literally transforms the car into a beast. And with that, you easily re-learn how to apply your toes lightly to the accelerator - it's not a chore, the stiffness of the pedal is the same. The interesting thing about the SB in the E60 is that it maintains the split personality of the power plant (easy going when you want, but a monster on demand) - except that the gap is now wider. In fact, I have been getting better in-city gas mileage with the SB, simply because I can't call on Dr. Jekyll on narrow suburban lanes for fear of putting women, children, and dogs at risk. Instead, I'm Mr. Hyde more often now close to home. But when you summon the beast, WOW, it's a whole new game. Go and get one ... you won't regret it. "

And another....

"A couple of weeks go I went to xxxx Porsche, The sales rep suggested I try the boxter S that was fitted with one of these devices. While I was skeptical, I tried it anyway. Woooow, felt like another 30-50 horses strapped on."

And one more for good margin.

"This device blew my mind. Acceleration improved vastly - it actually did increase low-end by quite a margin - acceleration from stop increased vastly - and boy did that feel really good. Gear changes were definitely much quicker and accelerator responsiveness was magnifed. To put it into perspective, even the slightest touch of the accelerator can send the car lurching forward, and even going uphill (my carpark sloped roundabout) becomes even more effortless. Never before have i come across a mod that increased low-end by such a wide margin right off the bat after the install - simply amazing."
