Pcm

if i turn PCM off and in manual mode is the rev limiter turned off?

other day i was driving with PCM off and accidentally hit tip button on steering wheel forcing it into temp manual mode and i think i reved engine into redline in 1st gear

worried about engine damage but seems to be driving OK

first of all, it's PSM not PCM, and your engine should be fine, it's not a big deal to force the engine at its limit, since it's not exactly the true limit for it

Its kind of hard to damage modern cars when it comes to rev limiters, most will up-shift before you hit the true red line even in a manual mode, I doubt if you have a factory ECU and you pegged it for a few seconds you could do any damage...

The only way i would worry is if you had no oil in the motor, your water pump failed and you were using jet fuel and all of your fail safes did not comply.. yup then you would have damage.... otherwise go enjoy your ride....
