Winter Rims Need TPMS?

Hi,

Was wondering if I skip adding TPMS for my winter rims (08 Cayenne GTS), will it only display a warning or will the car go into limp mode? I thought we can disable the sensor as well.

The cheap azz in me is trying to justify not spending on TPMS just for winters.

TIA.

It will display the warning light if you don't have the TPMS installed. Of course the obvious that you will also not know if a tire has a leak in it.

Thx for the info. I'm not too worried about slow leak. My other cars never had TPMS and I survived for this many years. If it was a set of replacement summers with nice rims and tires, I'd definitely put a in set of TPMS (or swap the OEM ones in). However, for winters rims that last 3-4 months, I'm not so stoked about that notion.

Cheers!
