For a home user I think Durametric is the only cost effective option for Porsche. Previously I have had VW and Audi which allowed me to use Vag-Com. That utility is soo much better as you can recode modules. The Durametric I use mostly to check DTC's and clear them.

Wish they had support for Porsche on the Vag-Com!

Factory Porsche diagnostic computer for $$$$! You might find an older PST style but I think there are limits to which things it can do, especially on newer models. The PIWIS is the most recent version but only hardcore Porsche shops and dealers pay the money for them.

I wish there was a Vag-Com like tool that worked with Porsche as I was able to do alot with it on my VW's and Audi's (including Touareg's and Q7's).
